Leapmotor C10 upgraded in China with 800V platform, 295 hp, and up to 495 km WLTP range
The Leapmotor C10 has been updated in China for 2026 model year. No changes to the exterior and interior, but the real story lies in the platform upgrade. The C10 now moves from a 400V system to an 800V architecture, which brings faster charging, improved efficiency, and a power bump.
The new version now puts out 295 hp (220 kW), a not insignificant leap (pun intended) from the 215 hp (160 kW) offered in the current Malaysian-spec C10. That alone chops the 0–100 km/h sprint down to 5.9 seconds. For context, the current C10 sold here takes 7.5 seconds to do the same.
Battery capacity has also gone up slightly, from 69.9 kWh to 74.9 kWh. It’s still a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack. Claimed WLTP range is now around 495 km, up from 424 km. That’s roughly 70 km of real-world extra breathing room on a single charge.
Thanks to the 800V system, DC charging will be quicker than before. While Leapmotor hasn’t specified the exact peak charging rate, the current model maxes out at 84 kW. The newer version should comfortably exceed that, especially with China’s charging infrastructure already heavily geared towards 800V and 250A. AC charging also sees a bump from 6.6 kW to 11 kW, which is more in line with today’s expectations.
There are a few other minor updates too. The infotainment system now runs on a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor, replacing the older 8155 chip. A new purple exterior colour has been added, along with powered door handles and a faster 50W wireless charging pad.
Now here’s the part that matters locally. With CKD assembly of the Leapmotor C10 scheduled to start in Malaysia by the end of 2025, will we get this updated version? It’s still up in the air.
