Here’s where Perodua QV-E parts are made – RM 50 million MCE Auto Hub launched

MCE Holdings Bhd (MCE) has officially launched the RM50 million MCE Auto Hub, an advanced manufacturing facility located in the UMW High Value Manufacturing Park in Serendah. The eight-acre plant marks the first phase of MCE’s long-term investment of up to RM200 million that will double the Group’s production capacity. Despite the grand opening ceremony, the facility started its initial limited operation in late 2025.

With over three decades of industry experience, MCE has evolved into a Tier 1 automotive electronics supplier, offering full Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) capabilities across design, development, and production for its customers. MCE Holdings secured the RM 19.8 million contract to produce infotainment & cockpit systems, safety systems, and interior electronics for the Perodua QV-E, all of which are produced at this facility.

MCE Group Managing Director, Dr Goh Kar Chun, said, “From our first contract supplying remote alarms and central locking systems for the domestic market in 1990, MCE has continuously invested in strengthening our capabilities.”

He added, “Today, we serve customers across Malaysia, ASEAN, and the United States, supplying increasingly sophisticated automotive electronics and mechatronic solutions. The MCE Auto Hub is the next step in that journey and reflects our confidence that Malaysian engineering, talent, and manufacturing capabilities can compete on the world stage.”

The Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, said, “MITI is refining the New Customised Incentive Mechanism (NCM) to ensure that investments in the industry build real industrial capabilities.” He added, “By investing in ADAS, infotainment and electronics, lighting systems, and mechatronics, MCE is competing not on labour costs, but on innovation.”

The MCE Auto Hub will serve as the Group’s primary manufacturing and engineering hub, bringing its total workforce to up to 680 employees, including 90 engineers, across its facilities in Johor Bahru, Port Klang, and Serendah.

The new manufacturing facility will support greater localisation within the automotive industry, creating opportunities for Malaysian engineers, technology companies, and suppliers to design, develop, and manufacture advanced automotive technologies for Malaysia, ASEAN, and international markets.
