Perodua begins exports of Traz and Alza to Sri Lanka, expands global footprint

Perodua has officially begun exporting two Perodua models to Sri Lanka: the Perodua Traz and the Perodua Alza. According to Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, with more than 20,000 vehicles sold since 1997, Sri Lanka has become one of Perodua’s largest export markets.

Besides Sri Lanka, Perodua also exports its models to six other countries, including Brunei, Fiji, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, and Timor-Leste. The company is also considering exporting pre-owned vehicles. “So far, we have expanded our market to include Timor-Leste this year,” said Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin.

In Sri Lanka, the Perodua Traz is offered at an introductory price of Rs. 19,950,000 (RM243,090) with the body kit and Rs. 19,200,000 (RM233,957.23) without the body kit, exclusively for the first 50 customers. The Perodua Alza, meanwhile, is priced at Rs. 19,950,000 (RM243,090). All prices include VAT.

United Motors Lanka PLC Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Chanaka Yatawara, said, “Supported by Perodua’s proven manufacturing capabilities and the United Motors Group’s extensive sales and service network, we are confident that the Traz and Alza will further strengthen this trust among Sri Lankan families and businesses.”

The company has sold close to 3,000 vehicles since the lifting of vehicle import restrictions in 2025, reflecting the strong trust Sri Lankan customers place in Perodua.

In Malaysia, the Perodua Traz X variant is priced at RM76,100, while the H variant is priced at RM81,100. The Perodua Alza X variant is priced at RM62,500, the H variant at RM68,000, and the range-topping AV variant at RM75,500. All prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

Both Perodua models are powered by the 2NR-VE 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 106 PS and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a D-CVT automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
