BMW Malaysia has introduced the non-PHEV 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport, locally assembled and priced at RM 508,200 with the extended warranty and service package.

Under the bonnet is the B58 3.0L turbocharged inline-six, now with a 48V mild hybrid (MHEV) system. Outputs are up to 381 PS and 540 Nm, enough for a 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic.

While the drivetrain is different from the xDrive50e PHEV, almost everything else is carried over. You still get air suspension, now with selectable ride heights (+40 mm, -20 mm in Sport), 21-inch Style 915 M wheels, and the same Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional feature sets.

Inside, the mild-hybrid X5 adopts the same BMW Live Cockpit Professional with Operating System 8.5, along with a 12.3-inch digital cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen. Other features include Sensafin synthetic upholstery, roller sunblinds, a wireless charger, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system.

Exterior colour choices include Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Skyscraper Grey.

On a side note: at RM508k, this MHEV X5 is about RM 110k less expensive than the imported xDrive40i M Sport that was launched in 2019, despite being better equipped. That makes it the more conventional, less complex sibling to the PHEV xDrive50e (RM 533k), which remains on sale for those who want electric range.
