From RM150k, 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance launched – 69 units, AWD, 449 PS, 450 km range
BYD Malaysia has expanded its BYD Atto 3 lineup by adding the Performance variant above the existing Ultra and Premium variants. Priced at RM 149,800, the BYD Atto 3 Performance is CBU from China and is limited to 69 units. The specific number of units is in conjunction with Malaysia’s 69th year of independence.
The prices for all three 2026 BYD Atto 3 variants are listed below:
- BYD Atto 3 Ultra – RM 124,800
- BYD Atto 3 Premium – RM 138,800
- BYD Atto 3 Performance – RM 149,800
The BYD Atto 3 Performance variant features dual electric motors mounted at both the front and rear axles. Essentially a more potent version of the BYD Atto 3 Premium, the Performance variant produces a combined power output of 449 PS and 560 Nm of torque, resulting in a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4 seconds.
However, the range takes a toll, as it now has a WLTP range of 451 km, compared to the Premium, which has a WLTP range of 510 km. Both the Performance and Premium variants have the same 74.88 kWh BYD Blade Battery, along with 800-volt architecture. DC charging is rated at up to 220 kW, while AC charging is rated at up to 11 kW; both are similar to the Premium variant.
Exterior-wise, not much has changed apart from the 18-inch alloy wheels, which now sport a dual-tone turbine design compared to the single-tone grey finish found on the Premium variant. The BYD Atto 3 Performance has MacPherson strut front suspension with dual-ball joints and a 5-link independent rear suspension. It also has facelifted front and rear bumpers and an updated rear spoiler with two vertical ‘F1-style’ third brake lamps.
Stepping inside, meanwhile, the BYD Atto 3 Performance variant adds a windshield head-up display for the driver and a built-in refrigerator inside the centre armrest, with both cooling and heating functions. As such, the extra compartment in front of the centre armrest has been removed, making way for the refrigerator hardware and rotary knob that controls the temperature of the refrigerator. Another thing to note is the inclusion of the tonneau cover, which was missing from the Premium variant despite having the mounting holes for it.
Apart from that, all the features from the Premium have been carried over, including dual-zone automatic climate control, a 50W wireless charger, a 15.6-inch centre screen (still non-rotatable), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an 8.8-inch instrument panel, driver and front passenger seats with ventilation and power adjustment, and a panoramic sunroof with tilt and slide functions and a power sunshade.
In terms of safety, the BYD Atto 3 Performance features a comprehensive Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), bundled with safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Brake, a 360º View Monitor and seven airbags.
To recap, the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance variant has launched in Malaysia, priced at RM 149,800 and limited to only 69 units. The car also comes with a 6-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year / 160,000 km high-voltage battery and drive unit warranty. Complimentary accessories include a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter, as well as a Type 2 charging cable with a 3-pin plug.
