2022 BMW 3 Series facelift unveiled- No overgrown grille on G20 LCI

  • New Headlights design and BMW kidney grille
  • New rear apron with clean and modern surface design
  • Newly designed cockpit with BMW Curved Display
  • A wide variety of drive systems to choose from
  • 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard
  • Latest generation of BMW iDrive with BMW Operating System 8.

The G20 BMW 3 series facelift (or LCI for Life Cycle Impulse) has been unveiled today, surprising the world with the lack of an overgrown grille dominating the fascia of the car.

If you recall seeing leaked images of the “BMW i3 sedan” from China some months ago, the new G20 BMW 3 series looks exactly like that, minus the EV design elements.

Looking at the exterior of the 2022 G20 BMW 3 Series LCI, you can see the new redesigned headlights which are now much slimmer and have DRLs arranged in an inverted L shape to create a harmonious and modern look.

Adaptive LED Headlights are available as an option, and are identifiable by the blue accents inside their covers.

Thankfully the grille has not been botched in this facelift. Only receiving light modification on the contours and double bars, the BMW kidney grille has a more powerful visual.

Over in the rear, the G20 LCI has received a redesigned bumper, keeping the aesthetics relevant with the times with vertical design elements.

On the inside, the G20 LCI features a new BMW Curved Display that combines a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-unch control display to create a wrap-around effect in the cockpit.

The new BMW Curved Display features the latest generation of BMW iDrive with BMW Operating System 8.

While inside the new BMW 3 Series , customers can make use of the Personal eSIM designed to work with 5G mobile technology, the BMW ID (for individualising the user experience), and further improved smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™

The 14.9-inch touchscreen control display is also where you adjust the Three-zone automatic climate control that now comes as standard. Alternatively, voice command also works to adjust the climate in the G20 LCI’s cabin to your liking.

Gaze upon the center console and you will notice a smaller gear shifter in the G20 LCI that connects to the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Also on the center console are the Start/Stop button, iDrive Controller, Driving Experience Control buttons, parking brake and other vehicle functions.

In car navigation is also now standard for the BMW 3 Series.
