BMW M has just released another teaser for the BMW M3 Touring, this time showing the car undergoing rigorous testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Amidst the rampant electrification happening at BMW, it seems that the German automaker can still afford to allocate resources toward the development of a sports wagon – a blessing for the old-school enthusiast with a soft spot for fast wagons.

While the E46 M3 Touring never made it into production, the M3 Touring is finally becoming a reality, some 20+ years later.

In the latest teaser, it can be seen that the interior has been left uncovered as the test-mule BMW M3 Touring has been developed on the older BMW 3-series wagon platform.

No manual shifter is also shown, meaning the BMW M3 Touring will only be offered with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission.

The BMW M3 Touring is is among a few new M cars that will make their debut in the near future including the BMW M4 CSL and the BMW XM.
