Nissan previews EV concept cars – Max-Out, Chill-Out, Hang-Out & Surf-Out

Alongside the announcement of the “Nissan Ambition 2030”, Nissan has also previewed 4 concept electric cars.

All concept cars have been given unique and catchy names such as Max-Out, Hang-Out, Chill-Out, and Surf-Out.

The one closest to a production version is the Nissan Chill-Out which looks like a smaller and sleeker Nissan Ariya.

The Nissan Chill-Out sits on Nissan’s CMF-EV platform and features Nissan’s e-4ORCE AWD system.

At the core of all the concept cars previewed by Nissan is their solid-state battery technology, called All Solid-State Battery (ASSB). 

Nissan claims the ASSB technology can charge three times faster and significantly reduce the battery pack cost to $75 per kWh by fiscal year 2028 and aims to bring it further down to $65 per kWh.

The most extreme-looking concept car would be the Max-Out which is a 2-seater cabriolet.

Nissan aims to deliver a new driving experience with its superlative stability and comfort.

Dynamic cornering and steering response are balanced with limited body roll to optimize driver and passenger comfort, creating a feeling of oneness with the car.

A funky-looking concept car is also previewed, called the Nissan Hang-Out concept.

It is aimed to provide a new way of spending time on the move, and designed to suppress vibrations and jolts, thereby reducing instances of motion sickness and interference while working on the go.

The fourth concept car previewed by Nissan is the Surf-Out concept car, a pick-up truck that looks very similar to the Rivian R1T.

Designed to create a smooth ride regardless of terrain, the Nissan Surf-Out enables customers to go anywhere with comfort and confidence.

As for targetted new models, Nissan aims to launch 23 exciting new electrified models, including 15 new EVs, aiming for 50% electrification mix by fiscal year 2030.
