Leaked: BMW i3 Neue Klasse EV images surface ahead of debut
The new images of the new BMW i3 EV have been accidentally leaked through a social media post by BMW Group on Instagram, according to Electrek. The now-deleted post revealed a “design video” that was originally meant to premiere on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
Following the launch of the BMW iX3 EV SUV, the new BMW i3 EV will be the second model to debut under the Neue Klasse concept. Until now, only a few camouflaged prototype images had been seen, and despite being designed under the Neue Klasse concept, the new BMW i3 EV still retains the familiar 3 Series look.
The kidney grille is now slimmer and stretches across the entire front fascia, along with an illuminated frame that houses the new LED headlights. Flush door handles line the sides of the car, giving the Neue Klasse BMW i3 its clean look. The iconic Hofmeister kink—a signature BMW design element featuring a low-angle bend at the bottom rear corner of the rear window (C-pillar)—is retained. At the rear, a sleek wraparound LED taillight completes the minimalist design.
Inside, the design shares similarities with the BMW iX3, featuring a 17.9-inch touchscreen head unit and a redesigned four-spoke steering wheel. It will also be equipped with BMW’s new iDrive system and BMW Panoramic Vision, a head-up display that stretches across the windshield that projects key vehicle information.
It is expected that the new BMW i3 EV will feature an 800-volt electrical architecture and support charging speeds of up to 400 kW. Similar to the BMW iX3, it is also expected to use the same 108.7 kWh battery pack, providing up to 805 km of WLTP range. More information will be revealed during its official livestream unveiling on March 18, 2026, through here.
