2026 Omoda C9 PHEV launched – RM 209k, 1.5L turbo plug-in hybrid, dual-motor

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has launched the new Omoda C9 PHEV, priced at RM 208,800 (OTR without insurance), and it is available in only one variant. The Omoda C9 PHEV is a flagship premium plug-in hybrid D-segment SUV, featuring a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine combined with dual electric motors. Listed below are the current prices for all Omoda C9 ICE and PHEV variants:

  • Omoda C9 PHEV – RM 208,800
  • Omoda C9 (4WD) – RM 188,800
  • Omoda C9 (2WD) – RM 168,800

Starting with the dimensions, the Omoda C9 PHEV measures 4,775 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,671 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. These dimensions are identical to the ICE variant, except for the weight, which has increased by 334 kg compared to the ICE 4WD variant.

The exterior design features slight changes, including a small break in the middle of the lower front bumper and an additional charging port on the left side. The stylised ‘PHEV’ badge now appears under the ‘AWD’ emblem.

Under the bonnet sits a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing 143 PS and 215 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with dual electric motors: a P2 integrated starter-generator producing 102 PS and 170 Nm, and a P2.5 traction motor delivering 122 PS and 220 Nm. These are mated to a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

At the rear, a 230 PS, 310 Nm motor powers the rear wheels, providing an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The total system output is rated at 537 PS and 650 Nm, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 179 km/h.

Under the floor is a 34 kWh NMC battery, delivering a pure electric NEDC range of up to 169 km. DC fast charging supports up to 70 kW, charging the battery from 30% to 80% in around 25 minutes. AC charging supports up to 6.6 kW, charging from 30% to 100% in 5.5 hours.

Inside, the Omoda C9 retains a similar interior design to the ICE variants, featuring premium leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, 14 Sony speakers, and a panoramic roof, among others. The only additional feature in the Omoda C9 PHEV is the drive mode dial, which now includes EV and HEV modes.
