Jaguar pauses production for UK market, wants to rival Porsche, Bentley

British car brand Jaguar is no longer selling new cars in UK, as reported by Autocar. With the production of the F-Pace SUV finally coming to an end, Jaguar is temporarily bowing out of the UK market and customers can only buy existing stocks of its models. The Jaguar brand is shifting towards being electric. It is also repositioning itself to be more upmarket to rival the likes of Porsche and Bentley instead of BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The F-Pace joins the XE, XF, F-Type, E-Pace, and I-Pace which have been earlier discontinued for the UK market in summer this year. For markets outside of UK, some models are still being manufactured, like the F-Pace, I-Pace, and E-Pace.

Jaguar’s plan is to launch a new model in 2026, and it will most likely be a Taycan-rivalling electric car. Presumably a 4-door GT car, the concept version of this new model is set to be unveiled by the end of 2024 in the United States.

It will establish a new design direction for Jaguar, influencing not only the forthcoming GT model but also the future Bentley Bentayga-sized SUV and Flying Spur-sized limousine, both scheduled for launch by 2028.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) told Autocar in a statement, “From November 2024, new Jaguar sales will come to an end ahead of our new brand reveal later this year and product launch in 2026.”

“We have now ceased allocation of our current generation of Jaguar vehicles. We do have a selection of models available to acquire on an Approved Pre-Owned basis through our UK retail network.”
