BMW presents a new front end with the unveiling of the BMW Concept XM.
The production-version BMW XM will be built from the end of 2022 and the BMW XM will only be available as a plug-in hybrid and exclusively as an M model.
It looks like the BMW XM will be the first electrified BMW “M” car that BMW M GmbH will produce in celebration with the 50th anniversary of the “M”brand.
BMW says the BMW XM will also introduce its audience to a highly progressive and distinctive take on BMW X model design and an all-new form of luxury and sense of space for the interior.

Components of the plug-in hybrid system include a V8 engine a high-performance electric motor. Maximum power output is 750 PS (550 kW) and maximum torque is 1,000 Nm.
Exact technical specifications have not been release, but BMW claims the BMW XM is capable of an 80-km all-electric range.
While the front-end creates dividing opinions, BMW calls it a progressive design that gives maximum presence.
The headlights have been split into two separate modules, reminiscent of older models from BMW.
The kidney-grille has been given a near-octagonal treatment, giving the car a more dynamic appearance. M-style double bars within the grille add to the perception of width.
On the inside, the driver will find a distinctive M interpretation of driver-focused cockpit design. Brown, vintage-look leather, copper and carbon fibre create a bridge between luxury and motor sport.
The new BMW Curved Display screen grouping positioned above the cockpit creates a neat balance between traditional driver focus and modern digitality.
Despite the “M”-ness of it all, the BMW XM provides excellent space and luxury. The large rear seat bench with its deep seat recesses forms an inviting space to relax.
The lower sections of the seats offer high comfort and an exclusive couch character with their luxurious velvet upholstery and diamond quilting. Deep-pile carpeting with a diamond pattern adds to the exclusive impression.
With a large, hybrid SUV pioneering the electrified “M” badge, we’re unsure how BMW enthusiasts will feel about the BMW XM.
