Over 2,000 bookings recorded for Proton S70 NA in East Malaysia

Proton has recorded over 2,000 bookings for the Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 across East Malaysia since bookings opened on 7 September 2026. The strong response was driven by a roadshow held from 9 to 11 October at Vivacity Megamall in Kuching, Sarawak, which gave potential customers an up-close look at the new model.

In Sarawak alone, the Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 has received over 1,000 bookings, contributing significantly to East Malaysia’s overall performance. This achievement is expected to boost Proton’s total sales in Sarawak, which have reached 9,870 units so far in 2026. Compared to the 4,270 units sold in 2018, this represents a sales increase of 131%.

Proton continues to support customers in East Malaysia through its network of 16 authorised service centres, where trained service advisors and technicians provide maintenance and repair services, alongside a supply of genuine Proton parts. Proton’s regional parts centre in Kuching also supports parts availability for service outlets, helping to improve service efficiency, technical capabilities and the overall customer ownership experience.

The 2026 Proton S70 i-GT 1.5 is priced from RM 61,800 in East Malaysia and is available in Lite and Prime variants. Both are powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine paired with a CVT. Key features include a spacious cabin, a soft-touch dashboard, five USB ports, remote engine start, an electric parking brake, and Auto Brake Hold. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available from October 2026. Both variants also come with a five-function rear radar safety system, a reverse camera and a rear seat reminder.
