Perodua, Malaysia’s leading compact car manufacturer, sold 358,102 vehicles in 2024, an impressive 8.4% increase over its 2023 sales of 330,325 units. In production, Perodua set another benchmark by manufacturing 368,100 vehicles in 2024, a 7.2% rise from its previous record of 343,400 units in 2023. This milestone in 2024, records its highest-ever vehicle sales and production figures since its establishment in 1993.

“We have expanded far beyond our installed capacity of 320,000 units, showcasing dynamic synchronisation in meeting our shared objectives. This achievement shows our true potential and will be the benchmark for the industry in the years to come,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

Dato’ Sri Zainal highlighted the seamless collaboration within Perodua as the key to achieving both quality and quantity in tandem. He said, “This achievement also proves that quality and quantity can move hand in hand if all communicate and coordinate well. In this regard, we wish to thank our staff for going above and beyond what we believe we can do.”

Perodua also played a pivotal role in driving Malaysia’s automotive industry forward, capturing an estimated 44% of the total industry volume (TIV) of more than 814,000 units in 2024. “Based on these numbers, we estimate that Perodua was the main growth driver last year,” Dato’ Sri Zainal added.

On a quarterly basis, Perodua registered 97,741 vehicles during q4 2024, marking a slight increase of 0.7% compared to the 97,098 units sold during the same period in 2023. For December 2024, Perodua sold 32,202 vehicles, a 3.2% increase over the 31,210 units sold in December 2023. In after-sales service, the company reported a 9.7% rise in vehicle intake, servicing 3.4 million vehicles in 2024 compared to 3.1 million in 2023.

As Perodua looks ahead to 2025, Dato’ Sri Zainal acknowledged potential challenges, including increased competition from new automotive brands. However, he expressed confidence in Perodua’s readiness to tackle these hurdles and continue leading the automotive industry. “We believe 2025 will offer both new challenges and opportunities for us. Despite these challenges, Perodua remains ready to continue its role in charting the way forward for the automotive industry,” he said.

Dato’ Sri Zainal extended his gratitude to all stakeholders, including shareholders, government partners, vendors, dealers, financial institutions, and customers, for their unwavering support. “To all Malaysians, we wish to thank you for your trust in us, and we will do our best to exceed your expectations on what we are capable of,” he concluded.
