Kia Carnival price announced for Malaysia, RM 196,340, CBU from Korea

Price of the Kia Carnival in Malaysia have been confirmed, starting at RM 196,340, and offered in one variant only, an 11-seater powered by a 2.2-L turbodiesel engine (202 PS/440 Nm).

Officially distributed by Dinamikjaya Motors, the Kia Carnival is fully-imported (CBU) from Korea. Initially planned as a CKD model,  the pandemic has pushed this plan to a further date in 2022.

Dinamikjaya has also announced plans for 3 more CKD models, the Kia Sportage, Kia Sorento, and possibly an all-electric car, the Kia e-Niro.

At the front, the Kia Carnival gets dual-led headlights, flanking the tiger nose grille. Meanwhile on the back, the rear led combination taillights span across the car’s width.

As for wheels, the Kia Carnival sits on 18-inch alloys.

On the inside, the Kia Carnival offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) a 4.2-inch digital cluster (flanked by analogue dials), and a wireless phone charger.

Advanced-safety-wise, the Kia Carnival is equipped with Blind-spot collision warning (BCW) and Rear-Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCTA), while the range-topping version in Thailand gets Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assistance, Smart-Exit Assist, and Lane-Following Assistance.

Under the new distributor that is Dinamikjaya Motors, Kia Malaysia will soon launch even more CKD units, including a possibly all-electric model.
