iCAUR V23 scores 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating, near-perfect AOP score
The iCAUR V23 successfully achieved a full 5-Star rating with an overall score of 91.02 points under the new ASEAN NCAP safety standard. Assessed under the new, 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol, it achieved 39.71 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 16.67 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 17.14 points for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs) and 17.50 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).
This positions the iCAUR V23 to be among the top-performing vehicles to be tested under the 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol, all while being the first electric off-road SUV to be assessed by ASEAN NCAP. As stated by the Chery Corporate Malaysia Executive Vice President, Men Lin Bo, “The iCAUR V23 introduces an exciting and dynamic approach to EV mobility that also places vehicle safety at the forefront.”
Underneath the rugged off-road look lies iCAUR V23’s cage-like frame comprising 70% high-strength steel, providing a strong structural foundation and battery protection in the event of a collision. It’s Battery Management System (BMS) delivers high voltage protection with precise liquid-cooled temperature management.
Additionally, the iCAUR V23 has a comprehensive safety suite that includes six airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as standard across both 2WD and iWD variants. A millimetre-wave radar is also integrated to enhance detection accuracy across a wide range of driving conditions.
