Volvo ES90: Registration of interest now open for the EV sedan

Volvo Car Malaysia has announced the opening of registration of interest for the new Volvo ES90. The brand’s new electric sedan will be locally assembled (CKD), set to debut in Q1 2026. Starting today, on the 2nd of January, customers may register their interest through Volvo car Malaysia’s official website.

Customers that register their interest will receive a 2% early-bird incentive on the Volvo ES90, limited only to the first 100 units booked between now and March 31st, 2026. However, details regarding official market introduction, available variants and pricing will be announced on a later date.

Volvo Car Malaysia Sales & Marketing Director, Patricia Yaw stated “This year, as we mark 60 years since Volvo established its presence in Malaysia, it is especially meaningful to commemorate this milestone with the local assembly of the Volvo ES90, our first fully electric sedan. Built on six decades of experience, customer insight, and ongoing innovation, the ES90 reflects how far we have grown and evolved as a brand. Most importantly, it represents our lasting commitment to the Malaysian customers who have supported and inspired us over the years”.

The Volvo ES90 introduces an 800-volt architecture platform designed for efficiency, performance, and usability. With charging speeds of up to 350 kW, drivers can either charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes or gain 300 km of range in just 10 minutes. With an estimated WLTP range of up to 651 km on a single charge and delivering up to 333 PS and 480 Nm of torque, the Volvo ES90 combines practicality and performance that enables drivers to commute to almost anywhere in the country with a single charge.

The Volvo ES90 will feature a(an) NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin computing system – making this Volvo ES90 the most powerful Volvo ever in terms of processing capacity in further elevating both safety and driving experience. Built on the Volvo SPA2 platform, the ES90 is also supported by the Superset tech stack which allows the car to be continuously improved throughout its lifecycle via over-the-air updates.
