Batik Air relaunches private terminal shuttle service at KLIA with Leapmotor C10 EV SUV
Batik Air has officially reintroduced its Private Terminal Transfer service for Business Class passengers at KLIA Terminal 1, elevating the premium travel experience with a fleet of Leapmotor C10 electric SUVs. This exclusive service provides a seamless and luxurious journey between gate G1 at the main terminal and gate C1 at the satellite terminal, bypassing the need for the usual shuttle bus.
This enhanced terminal transfer mirrors the luxury offering provided by Malaysia Airlines, which uses the Mercedes-Benz EQS500 and S580e for similar routes. With KLIA’s aerotrain system still under replacement following delays, these VIP electric shuttles fill a critical gap for high-value travellers.
“Travel should be effortless, and at Batik Air, we believe our Business Class guests deserve nothing less,” said Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Batik Air.
“This VIP Transfer Service isn’t just about moving between terminals—it’s about redefining the journey with innovation, care, and a touch of exclusivity.”
Passengers can now enjoy a quiet, comfortable and eco-friendly ride between terminals, adding a layer of convenience and class that reflects Batik Air’s growing premium ambitions.
The shuttle service marks a strategic partnership with Leapmotor, introducing the C10 electric SUVto Malaysian roads for the first time. According to Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN,
“The Leapmotor C10 redefines premium travel, delivering unparalleled comfort and sophistication. It represents our vision for sustainable, future-ready mobility in Southeast Asia.”
Priced at RM159,700 on-the-road without insurance, the Leapmotor C10 is a D-segment electric SUV that offers:
• 218 PS (160 kW) and 320 Nm via a single rear motor
• 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, top speed of 170 km/h
• 69.9 kWh LFP battery with 424 km WLTP range
Its tech-forward cabin includes:
• 10.25-inch digital cluster + 14.6-inch touchscreen
• 20-inch Trident alloy wheels, full-LED lighting
• Dual-zone climate control, 12-speaker audio
• Qi wireless charging, 360-degree cameras
• Oeko-Tex faux leather, Level 2 autonomous driving
• Heated & ventilated power front seats
However, it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which may be a consideration for tech-savvy users.
KLIA’s aerotrain system, which was initially scheduled for completion in January, has seen further delays. While aerotrains are expected to resume within Q2 2025, the private transfer via electric SUVs serves as a much-needed premium alternative for Business Class travellers.
The initiative reinforces Batik Air’s commitment to luxury air travel while promoting the use of sustainable electric vehicles in airports—a win for both passengers and the environment.
