2024 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift now open for booking in Malaysia, HEV from est. RM140k
UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has opened the order books for the facelifted Toyota Corolla Cross in Malaysia, with prices estimated to start from RM140,000, as stated on its official website. Among the refreshed lineup are two variants: the Corolla Cross Hybrid and, for the first time in Malaysia, the Corolla Cross Hybrid GR Sport.
Already introduced in Thailand, the facelifted Corolla Cross adopts a sharper, more modern front fascia. Redesigned full-LED headlamps sit above a sleeker upper grille, while the main grille adopts a honeycomb pattern that flows into faux intakes at the edges of the bumper.
Under the bonnet, there are no confirmed changes, but the Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric is expected to carry over the 1.8-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine paired with an electric motor. This hybrid system delivers a total output of 122 PS to the front wheels.
Inside, the foot-operated parking brake is finally replaced with an electronic parking brake, complete with an auto brake hold feature. A larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system will also be standard, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Other upgrades include a 3D panoramic view monitor (PVM) for better visibility and an updated vehicle telematics system that now features remote engine start. Buyers will get to choose from five exterior colours for the Hybrid Electric variant, including Celestite Grey Metallic, Red Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and a new Dark Turquoise.
The GR Sport variant ups the ante with exclusive two-tone paint options (Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, and Dark Turquoise with a black roof). In addition to the facelifted features, it gets sport-tuned suspension and performance bracing for improved handling. You can also expect black leather seats with embossed GR logos and red stitching.
