Hilux Not Tough Enough? 2021 Toyota Hilux GR Sport Launched In Thailand, From Rm 113k

The latest Toyota to get the GR treatment is the Toyota Hilux. Called the Toyota Hilux GR Sport, it has just been launched today in Thailand.
Over in Thailand, the Hilux comes in a “regular” high riding position and the “low-riding” Z edition. Both versions get the GR Sport treatment with some differences in their kit.
– Toyota Hilux GR Sport dual-cab – 1,299,000 baht (RM166,300)
– Toyota Hilux Z edition GR Sport dual-cab – 889,000 baht (RM113,800)

Toyota Hilux GR Sport engine

The engine of the Toyota Hilux GR Sport remains the same 1GD-FTV 2.8 -litre turbodiesel engine. Maximum power is 204 PS and maximum torque is 500 Nm.
The GR Sport Z edition (low-riding) from the regular Z edition (low-riding) introduces the 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine to the Z edition for the first time.
Previously, the Z edition has only been powered 2.4-litre 2GD-GTV turbo diesel engine (150 PS/400 Nm).

Toyota Hilux GR Sport kits

The high-riding Toyota Hilux GR Sport gets body-coloured claddings & skid plates, and Gazoo racing livery.
Besides 18-inch wheels with a new design, the GR Sport Toyota Hilux also gets a unique black sports bar.
The TOYOTA name replaces the oval Toyota badge on the grille, and the fog lights also get a nicer and larger housing.

Toyota Hilux Z Edition GR Sport kits

Inspired by Super GT cars, the Toyota Hilux Z edition gets a sportier body kit, some fake vents, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Toyota Hilux GR Sport interior

The Toyota Hilux GR Sport (both versions) gets a GR-badged leather steering wheel, GR start-up screen, GR-badged starter button (high-rider only), and GR-embroidered logos on the suede upholstery.
The GR Sport treatment includes a unique instrument cluster design.
Should Malaysia get the Toyota Hilux GR Sport too? (Especially the Z edition)
