Updated Proton eMAS 7 teased ahead of KLIMS 2026 debut – longer range?

Following BYD’s announcement of their new BYD Atto 3 Evo, Pro-Net stepped up to the stage ahead of KLIMS 2026, of what appears to be an updated Proton e.MAS 7 with a teaser across social media, captioned “8 days to the reveal,” together with a shadowy silhouetted Proton e.MAS 7. The reveal is set on the 11th of June, 2026, which is the press date for the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS).

Looking at the Australian and Thai markets, its twin sister, the Geely EX5, has been upgraded with a larger 68.9 kWh Aegis short blade LFP battery, a small bump in size from the previous battery capacity at 60.22 kWh. The result is a 65 km range (WLTP) increment, from 410 km to 475 km.

Translating it to the Proton e.MAS 7, the range figures are only applicable to the current Proton e.MAS 7 Prime variant, as it is equipped with 18-inch wheels. The 19-inch wheels equipped on the Premium variant will only get a 40 km range increment, totalling 450 km.

The front-mounted electric motor remains unchanged, producing 218 PS and 320 Nm of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, slower than the current model of 6.9 seconds, due to the larger (and supposedly heavier) battery. The maximum DC charging power remains at 100 kW, with Geely claiming it will still take 20 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% because of the slight increase in battery size. AC charging remains at 11 kW, 10% to 100% in seven hours.

It is also safe to assume the updated models’ Premium variant may receive a front centre airbag and a built-in ottoman to match the global Geely EX5. Apart from that, the Emerald Green paint scheme that was first introduced to the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV could make its way here. It remains to be seen if it will get a bump in price. For context, the Proton e.MAS 7 is priced from RM 103,800 (Prime) to RM 119,800 (Premium).
