Mercedes-Benz Malaysia expands EV charging network with strategic collaborations
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is stepping up its efforts in the electric mobility space with an expanded EV charging network through strategic partnerships with hotels and lifestyle destinations.
The initiative, unveiled at the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at the Saujana Golf & Country Club, aims to create an integrated ecosystem of charging options. Amanda Zhang, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, described the project as a way to blend electric mobility with luxury. “We are redefining the essence of being a Mercedes-Benz customer by making EV ownership more accessible and enhancing every touchpoint of our customers’ journey through tailored solutions,” she said.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s charging ecosystem is being developed to cater to diverse customer requirements:
- Charge@Home: Offering wallbox installations for private residences, ensuring owners can charge their EVs conveniently overnight.
- Charge@Retail: Providing charging facilities at Mercedes-Benz retail outlets for use during service visits or consultations.
- Charge@Public: Featuring branded charging stations at high-end hotels, resorts, and golf courses for those on the move.
The company is also working with charge point operators like EV Connection, ChargeEV, and Gentari to strengthen Malaysia’s charging infrastructure, aiming for seamless access nationwide.
To enhance its appeal, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has partnered with some of the country’s most renowned establishments. These include Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang and Marriott Hotel in Penang, The RuMa Hotel & Residences and Saujana Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, and Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas in Johor.
At these locations, Mercedes-Benz owners can enjoy exclusive privileges by presenting their Mercedes-Benz Card or app upon check-in. This partnership reflects the brand’s focus on elevating the ownership experience beyond the vehicle itself.
