The Mercedes-Benz EQB has been launched in Germany at a starting price of €55,311.20 (~RM 262,743.87).
The Mercedes-Benz EQB is the electric counterpart to the Mercedes-Benz GLB that is available in Malaysia as the GLB 200, GLB 250, and Mercedes-AMG GLB35 4MATIC.

While Malaysia is yet to receive any all-electric models from Mercedes-Benz, lets have a look at the specs and pricing of the Mercedes-Benz EQB in Germany.
Variant | Price (Germany) | Price (rough conversion) |
---|---|---|
Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC | €55,311.20 | RM262,743.87 |
Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC | €57,988.70 | RM275,462.75 |

Offred in two variants, the EQB 350 is the more powerful variant, with a 215-kW (292-PS) maximum power output and 520 Nm of torque.

Peak torque | 390 Nm | 520 Nm |

That’s 120 Nm more torque than the rather-bonkers Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 (400 Nm). In terms of maximum power, the EQB 350 is 10kW (13 PS) less powerful than the AMG GLB 35. It’s amazing what a couple of electric spinny bois can do.

In Germany, the EQB is available as the “Edition 1” for a limited time. The “Edition 1” features AMG styling on the outside and special upholstery on the inside.
As for technical specifications for the EV enthusiasts, the EQB is capable of 100-kW DC fast charging that charges the 66.5-kWh battery from 10% to 80% in 32 minutes.
The WLTP range is listed at 419 km.

Although Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has yet to bring in an all-electric car, they have taken great initiative in electrifying Malaysia.
An MoU has been signed by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Petronas, and JomCharge to deploy DC fast chargers at Petronas stations in Malaysia by H1 2022.

Sharing much similarities with the Mercedes-Benz GLB, the EQB is a decent 7-seater all-electric car with not many rivals in its segment for the time being.
