Honda Malaysia recalls 87,490 cars for fuel pump defect – check here to see if your car is affected

Honda Malaysia has issued a recall for 87,490 units of its cars concerning defective fuel pumps. There are essentially 2 types of defects this time around:

  • Fuel pump impeller defect – 84,703 vehicles affected
  • High-pressure fuel pump defect – 3,417 units affected

As for the first type of defect, Honda Malaysia says, “The fuel pump’s impeller may swell after prolonged fuel immersion, potentially preventing the vehicle from starting or causing the engine to stall while driving.” Models affected include the Jazz, City, Civic Accord, Br-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Odyssey.
