Honda e:N1 now open for booking in Malaysia – EV HR-V with 412km range, 204PS and 310Nm
After its initial preview at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) last December, the all-electric Honda e:N1 is finally open for booking in Malaysia. Honda’s first electric B-segment SUV for our market is set to be officially launched within the second quarter of 2025, meaning the wait is nearly over.
Built on Honda’s e:N Architecture F and sharing its bodyshell with the popular HR-V, the e:N1 is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque. This setup allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h.
Feeding the motor is a 68.8 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, which delivers a WLTP-rated range of up to 412 km—a respectable figure for daily urban use and occasional long trips.
One area where the e:N1 trails slightly behind its competitors is charging speed. It supports DC fast charging at up to 78 kW, allowing a 10–80% top-up in approximately 45 minutes. On the plus side, it does accept 11 kW AC charging, which takes about six hours for a full charge—perfect for overnight home charging.
Visually, the Honda e:N1 stays close to its HR-V roots but with EV-specific design cues. The most obvious changes include a grille-less front fascia that houses the charging port, a non-chrome Honda badge, and Honda lettering at the rear in place of the traditional ‘H’ emblem.
Step inside, and you’re greeted by a tech-forward cabin highlighted by a massive 15.1-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, which integrates both infotainment and air-conditioning controls. There’s also a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a sleek push-button gear selector, reinforcing the car’s modern EV identity.
The Honda e:N1 comes well-equipped with standard features such as:
- Full-LED headlights
- Unique 18-inch two-tone multi-spoke alloy wheels
- The full Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems
- Blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert – both a first for Honda models in Malaysia, replacing the older LaneWatch camera system
Interested buyers can secure their unit through Honda’s official website or via the HondaTouch app. Eight authorised dealerships across Malaysia will be handling sales for the Honda e:N1:
- Selangor: Accord Auto, HZN Cars, Tiong Nam Motor
- Kuala Lumpur: Peringgit Sri Motor
- Perak: Ban Hoe Seng Auto
- Penang: Vivahill Auto
- Negeri Sembilan: Ban Lee Heng Motor
- Johor (Tebrau): Kah Motor Co
While official pricing has yet to be announced, the Honda e:N1 retails at 1,199,000 baht in Thailand(approximately RM157,600). If Malaysian pricing stays close to this figure, the e:N1 will be positioned well above rivals like the Proton eMas 7 and BYD Atto 3 Ultra, both priced around RM120,000.
That raises the question—is the Honda badge and premium tech worth the premium? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
