2026 Toyota Harrier HEV launched, RM 289k – 217 PS, fuel consumption 4.7 L/100 km
As teased yesterday from a Facebook posting by Toyota Malaysia, UMW Toyota Motor has launched the 2026 Toyota Harrier HEV with a price of RM 289,000 and features only one variant. The fourth-generation Toyota Harrier HEV has finally arrived in Malaysia, after being launched in Malaysia as a petrol-powered only back in 2022, which is priced at RM 274,000.
The biggest difference for this Toyota Harrier HEV is obviously the powertrain, now sporting the fourth-generation Toyota Hybrid Electric System, which is now powered by a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder Dynamic Force A25A-FXS engine with an electric motor. Electric energy is supplied by a lithium-ion battery. As a self-charging hybrid, the battery is recharged automatically through engine operation and regenerative braking. UMWT said fuel consumption is rated at 4.7 litres per 100 kilometres.

The Toyota Harrier is built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) with double wishbone rear suspension, with a dimension of 4,740 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, 1,660 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. Exterior design is largely the same as the normal petrol-powered one before, with an added ‘Beyond Zero’ on the side and rear of the car, indicating the Toyota Harrier’s electrified powertrain.

Comfort features include ventilated and heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, and Nanoe X air purification.

To recap, the Toyota Harrier HEV is priced at RM 289,000 (OTR excluding insurance) and comes with a 5-year / unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and an 8-year / unlimited mileage Hybrid Electric warranty, which covers the hybrid battery, inverter, and power management control ECU. An additional RM 800.00 is required to purchase the Toyota Harrier HEV in Platinum White Pearl Mica and Precious Black.
