2026 Suzuki eVitara launched in Malaysia, RM188k – twin-sister to Toyota Urban Cruiser

Naza Eastern Motors and Suzuki Malaysia have launched the Suzuki eVitara in Malaysia, Suzuki’s first battery-electric vehicle (BEV), priced at RM188,000. The Suzuki eVitara will be offered in limited numbers, with all units being fully imported (CBU) from India. For context, the Suzuki eVitara is identical to its twin sibling from Toyota, the Toyota Urban Cruiser, which made its Malaysian debut in April this year.

Dimension-wise, the five-seater electric SUV measures 4,275 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,640 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Compared to its Toyota counterpart, it is 10 mm shorter and 5 mm taller due to its revised bumper design. At the front, it features a bolder, more rugged, and layered bumper, complemented by a hexagonal grille and three-point LED daytime running lights (DRLs).

Like the Toyota Urban Cruiser, the Suzuki eVitara is built on Suzuki’s Heartect-e platform and is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing 174 PS and 193 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a BYD-sourced 61-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a claimed driving range of up to 426 km.

To recap, the Suzuki eVitara is priced at RM188,000 and comes with a five-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, a five-year/100,000 km warranty for BEV components, and an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty. The first 10 buyers will also receive five years of complimentary EV charging at selected dealerships, subject to terms and conditions.

An additional RM1,000 is required for the two-tone exterior colour options: Land Breeze Green Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl, Splendid Silver Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl, and Grandeur Grey Pearl Metallic with Bluish Black Pearl.
