Lexus has unveiled the updated 2026 RZ BEV SUV in North America. With this update Lexus introduced upgrades aimed at improving performance, efficiency, and user engagement. The refreshed lineup now includes new powertrain options, increased driving range, faster charging capabilities, and the debut of a new F Sport variant which is the RZ 550e F Sport.

The star of the updated range is the RZ 550e F Sport AWD, which is now the most powerful model in the RZ lineup with a combined output of 407 PS from its dual-motor setup. It also introduces a Lexus-first virtual manual gear shift mode, known as M Mode, allowing drivers to simulate manual gear changes using paddle shifters just like ICE cars for a more involved driving experience.

The 2026 RZ, at least for North America will now be available in three variants:

  • RZ 350e FWD with 224 PS
  • RZ 450e AWD with 312 PS
  • RZ 550e F SPORT AWD with 413 PS

Under ideal conditions, the RZ 350e FWD would be able to offer an estimated range of up to 482 km (for context this is achieved with 18 inch wheels), while the 450e AWD reaches approximately 418 km. The 550e F SPORT AWD delivers a range of around 362 km when equipped with 20-inch wheels.

Charging improvements include the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and an upgraded 11 kW onboard AC charger, up from the previous 7 kW unit. DC fast charging is also supported, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes under ideal conditions.

The RZ 550e F Sport AWD receives unique exterior styling, including exclusive 20-inch aero wheels, F Sport badging, and an optional new “Wind” exterior color. Furthermore, the enhancement to the RZ 550e is beyond cosmetics as it gets functional aerodynamic bits and weight reduction.

Inside, the cabin of the 2026 RZ continues with Lexus’ minimalist design language, featuring Ultrasuede door trim with laser-etched patterns and animated shadow illumination. The F Sport variant includes black Ultrasuede upholstery with blue stitching and aluminum pedals.

The updated Lexus RZ continues to be built at the Motomachi plant in Japan and is expected to arrive at North American dealerships later this year. Pricing and full specifications is said be released closer to launch.

For the Malaysian market, the Lexus RZ is available in only one form as the RZ 450e, priced at RM330k. It also happens to be the pre-update variant from 2024.
