Honda Malaysia clarifies 2026 City Facelift E variant brake specs after brochure error
To clear up the confusion, the 2026 Honda City Facelift comes in four variants: E, V, RS and e:HEV RS, each offering different equipment levels in the compact sedan. However, a few weeks after its official launch, a customer pointed out a discrepancy in the specification sheets. According to the brochure before it was recently rectified, all four variants were stated to be equipped with a rear solid disc brake system, which is incorrect.
Honda Malaysia clarifies that the E variant of the 2026 Honda City Facelift does indeed come with a rear drum brake system, while the remaining three variants come with a rear solid disc brake system. The company thanked the customer who highlighted the discrepancy and has reached out to them to resolve the misunderstanding. The company further emphasises that the rear drum brake system fully complies with all safety and quality standards.
All existing materials for the 2026 Honda City Facelift have been retracted and replaced with updated materials on online platforms. The materials will also be updated immediately across all authorised Honda dealerships.
For comparison, on the 2023 Honda City Facelift, only the RS and e:HEV RS variants come with a rear solid disc brake system. The table below shows the correct brake system specifications across all four variants.
