2026 Honda City Hatchback facelift now open for booking – new front design, BLIS with Honda LaneWatch

A week after the launch of the Honda City facelift, Honda Malaysia has announced that the Honda City Hatchback facelift is now open for booking. Like the sedan version, the Honda City Hatchback facelift is expected to be offered in only four variants: E, V, RS, and e:HEV RS. The previous S variant has been dropped for the sedan version.

Like the sedan version, the Honda City Hatchback facelift will receive a new front-end design, featuring bi-LED projector headlights and a new front bumper, with the lower section of the bumper featuring a different design depending on the variant. At the rear, there is a new diffuser design, while the wheel designs have also been updated, with new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels finished in Berlina Black. The RS variants get a dark machined finish.

Inside, the cabin has also been updated, similar to the sedan version. The centre infotainment touchscreen display has been upsized to 10 inches on the higher variants, while the dashboard now features a textured 3D silver finish, complete with ambient lighting, also on the higher variants.

Other additional features include auto-folding door mirrors, which are offered from the V variant onwards, while an auto-dimming rear-view mirror is offered from the RS variants onwards. The Blind Spot Information system is also offered, among other features. The familiar Honda LaneWatch camera is still equipped, operated via the signal stalk, and now works together with the Blind Spot Information system.

Under the bonnet, the powertrain remains the same as the previous iteration. The petrol variants come equipped with the familiar L15Z 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, producing 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT. The e:HEV RS variant is powered by an electric motor producing 109 PS and 253 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels via a single-speed transmission. The Atkinson-cycle 1.5-litre engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery.

As announced during the launch of the Honda City facelift, all Honda models will come with an eight-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, starting from 1 September, 2026. The Honda City Hatchback facelift will receive the same warranty coverage, together with a 10-year hybrid component warranty for the e:HEV RS variant.
