Est. RM260k, 6-seater Tesla Model Y L unveiled in Malaysia

Tesla Malaysia has released the indicative price of RM 260,000 for the Tesla Model Y L, and it only comes in one variant. Essentially, a stretched-out 5-seater Tesla Model Y, the Tesla Model Y L will be positioned as the range-topping variant in the Model Y lineup, as it is priced the highest compared to the other three variants. Expected delivery of the new 6-seater to be in Q2 2026.

Dimension-wise, the Tesla Model Y L measures 4,796 mm long, 2,129 mm wide, and 1,668 mm tall, with a wheelbase measuring 3,040 mm long. Compared to the regular Tesla Model Y, the new 6-seater is 179 mm longer, 44 mm taller, and the wheelbase has grown by 150 mm. Given the added 3^rd row, the rear roofline has been pushed upwards towards the rear, allowing for more headroom. A new rear spoiler has been added to increase downforce.

The exterior design is quite similar to the regular Tesla Model Y, with a few additions made specifically for the Tesla Model Y L. Among the standard exterior items on the Tesla Model Y L are listed below.

In terms of powertrain, the Tesla Model Y L is equipped with a dual motor all-wheel drive setup, producing 462 PS, allowing 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 5 seconds, and achieving a top speed of 201 km/h. Tesla claims energy consumption to be at 12.8 kWh per 100 km, clocking 681 km of WLTP range, thanks to the larger 82 kWh BMC battery. Peak charging power is rated at 250 kW. Additionally, the Tesla Model Y L is also equipped with Electronic Adaptive Damping Suspension, capable of catering to different numbers of passengers inside the vehicle for optimum ride quality.

To recap, the Tesla Model Y L now has an estimated price of RM 260,000, with delivery of vehicles to be as early as Q2 of 2026. With the new indicative price, the Tesla Model Y L is now the range-topping variant among the Model Y lineup.
