Mazda CX-60 and CX-80 get interior & safety updates in Japan

Mazda Motor Corporation has made improvements to both of its crossover SUVs, the Mazda CX-60 and the Mazda CX-80, and has begun selling them in Japan. In Malaysia, the Mazda CX-60 and the Mazda CX-80 are sold as CBU units imported directly from Japan, priced at RM 200,510 and RM 296,610, respectively. Both models are offered in only one variant each for the Malaysian market.

The product improvements focus on the interior. Firstly, both the Mazda CX-60 and the Mazda CX-80 now support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with a refreshed interior that switches from silver metallic trim to matte black with grey accents. Wind noise has also been reduced through improved sound insulation, including the use of sound-insulating glass for the front doors. Borrowing features from the Mazda CX-80, the Mazda CX-60 now includes Amazon Alexa, Mazda Online Navigation, and a 360º View Monitor (Trailer Hitch View).

Additionally, the Mazda CX-60 receives three safety features that were previously introduced in the Mazda CX-80: Cruising and Traffic Support (CTS) with emergency stop assistance, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELK), and Smart Brake Support (SBS).

Further updates for both models include the availability of a Nappa Leather Package and a Burgundy Leather Package. There is also an updated exhaust garnish for the diesel variant, which has been changed from chrome plating to black metallic. However, the diesel engine variant is not offered in Malaysia. For now, these updates are only applicable to the Japanese market. Only time will tell if the updated models will be brought over to Malaysia as CBU units.
