UMW Toyota Motor closes July with 8,877 units, 53,163 units YTD; Merdeka promos now live

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) wrapped up July 2025 with 8,877 units sold, which marks an improvement over June’s 7,773 units. This pushes the brand’s year-to-date (YTD) total to 53,163 units.

To recap, UMWT ended 1H 2025 with 44,286 units, down 5.8% year-on-year compared to the same period in 2024. The drop wasn’t drastic but did suggest softer market conditions and rising pressure from new players and EV alternatives.

As part of Merdeka month, UMWT is running its “Patriotic Showroom Weekender” from 23 to 24 August across all dealerships. Test drive gifts and showroom events are expected, but the bigger pull will likely be the rebates:

  • Up to RM 10,500 off the Yaris
  • RM 8,000 off the Vios
  • RM 6,000 off the Corolla Cross
  • RM 8,000 off the Hilux, plus 3 years free service

In addition, Toyota’s Service Savers plan (from RM 31/month) continues to offer fixed maintenance pricing and discounts on parts and labour, helping customers manage long-term ownership costs.
