Toyota expands BEV lineup in Europe with new C-HR+, bZ4X, and Lexus RZ
Toyota Motor Corporation has announced the expansion of its battery electric vehicle (BEV) lineup in Europe, reinforcing its commitment to carbon neutrality through a multi-pathway approach. Recognizing Europe’s high demand for electrified vehicles, Toyota aims to strengthen its BEV offerings by introducing three new models—the Toyota C-HR+, bZ4X, and Lexus RZ—targeting key SUV segments in the market.
Toyota continues to adopt a diversified approach to electrification, tailoring vehicle offerings to regional needs. In Europe, where BEV adoption is particularly high, the company is intensifying its electric lineup to meet consumer demand. Following the launch of the all-new Urban Cruiser, Toyota is now focusing on the B-, C-, and D-SUV segments, ensuring a broad range of choices for customers.
Toyota C-HR+

The Toyota C-HR+ introduces a BEV powertrain to the popular C-HR crossover. Designed with sleek aesthetics and practicality in mind, it offers a spacious cabin and a 416-liter luggage capacity.
Built on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the C-HR+ features a specially tuned suspension for an engaging driving experience. It is powered by two lithium-ion battery options:
• 57.7 kWh battery with a 455 km range
• 77.0 kWh battery with a 600 km range
Customers can choose between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD)configurations, providing flexibility based on driving preferences. The C-HR+ is scheduled for a European launch in the second half of 2025.
Toyota bZ4X

Toyota’s first dedicated BEV, the bZ4X, receives key updates to enhance range, charging speed, and driving dynamics. The new model continues to offer two lithium-ion battery options, with the larger 73.1 kWh battery extending range by 70 km compared to the previous version.
• 57.7 kWh battery with 445 km range
• 73.1 kWh battery with 575 km range
New for this model is battery pre-conditioning, ensuring faster charging in cold conditions, with rapid charging targeted at approximately 30 minutes. Toyota has also improved eAxle efficiency, suspension tuning, and quietness, enhancing both driving performance and passenger comfort. The updated bZ4X will debut in Europe in the second half of 2025.
Lexus RZ

Lexus continues its leadership in luxury electrification with the introduction of the new Lexus RZ, featuring an upgraded BEV system for improved performance and efficiency.
Key Enhancements in the Lexus RZ:
• Higher motor output for extended range and reduced charging time
• New Steer-by-Wire System, offering a unique and responsive driving experience
• Interactive Manual Drive, which mimics manual shifting for a more engaging ride
• DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, fine-tuned for improved traction and control
A standout addition to the lineup is the RZ 550e F SPORT, featuring a 300 kW high-output motor, delivering a powerful and sporty driving experience. The F SPORT edition also introduces a sportier aerodynamic exterior, exclusive interior materials, and performance-focused enhancements.

With the expansion of its BEV lineup, Toyota and Lexus reaffirm their commitment to offering diverse electrification options while enhancing vehicle performance and sustainability. These three new models will play a crucial role in Toyota’s European strategy, balancing customer preferences with environmental responsibility.
The Toyota C-HR+, bZ4X, and Lexus RZ are set to launch across Europe starting in late 2025, marking another step in Toyota’s journey toward a carbon-neutral future.
