Thailand launches the 2025 Honda HR-V facelift, hybrid-only powertrain

The 2025 Honda HR-V facelift has been launched in Thailand. Starting at an introductory price of 899,000 baht (∼RM115,900) for the base e:HEV E variant (valid until January 1, 2025, when it reverts to 949,000 baht or ∼RM122,300), the lineup also includes the e:HEV EL at 1,079,000 baht (∼RM139,100) and the flagship e:HEV RS at 1,179,000 baht (∼RM152,000), both retaining their previous prices despite receiving equipment upgrades.

The 2025 HR-V features a sleeker front bumper and wider grille, echoing design cues from the WR-V, as well as slimmer red-bar taillights for a refined look. The RS variant includes a gloss black body kit, a distinctive red heartbeat motif, new matrix projector LED headlights with active cornering lights, and smoked taillights. New to the colour palette, Sand Khaki Pearl with a black roof is available for EL and RS models, and the 18-inch wheels now sport a two-tone machined finish.

Inside, Honda has redesigned the centre console, added a locally fitted eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and included standard rear air vents, six speakers, and illuminated vanity mirrors. Exclusive to the EL and RS variants are front and rear USB-C ports, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and Qi wireless charging.

The HR-V continues with its hybrid powertrain, pairing a 131hp, 253 Nm electric motor with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine delivering 106hp and 127 Nm. The system allows electric driving at low speeds, with a lock-up clutch letting the petrol engine take over on highways. Fuel economy is rated at 25.6km per litre, allowing over 800km of range. The RS variant adds variable-ratio steering.

On the safety front, the HR-V includes the Honda Sensing suite, offering features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane centring assist, and front departure alert.
