Tesla Model 3 Standard launched in Malaysia – RM 148k, new cheapest Tesla

The Facelifted Tesla Model 3 Standard made its global debut back in October 2025 and now has arrived on our shores priced at RM 147,600. This Standard variant of the Tesla Model 3 sits at the lowest in terms of its lineup, below the RWD, the Long Range RWD, and the Long Range AWD, which are now under the ‘Premium’ suffix called the Tesla Model 3 Premium range. This makes the Tesla Model 3 Standard the most affordable new Tesla in Malaysia. The Tesla Model 3 Performance remains the highest variant.

Listed below are the new prices for the Tesla Model 3 lineup which are:

  • Tesla Model 3 Performance AWD – RM 229,000
  • Tesla Model 3 Premium AWD – RM 199,000
  • Tesla Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD – RM 185,000
  • Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD – RM 169,000
  • Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD – RM 147,600

Comparing the Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD to the one that it technically replaced in the hierarchy, the Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD, the Standard RWD has a WLTP range of 534 km, better than the Premium RWD variant, which offers only 520 km of WLTP range. However, the Standard RWD gets a 6.2-second zero to one hundred acceleration, one second slower than the Premium RWD.

On the outside, the Standard RWD loses the option to upgrade the wheels, stuck with the new 18-inch Prismata Wheels. Other exterior details include the absence of auto-dimming side-view mirrors. However, it still retains the power-adjustable and folding function. Body colours come in Stealth Grey as standard; choosing Pearl White Multi-Coat or Diamond Black requires an additional cost of RM 5,000.

Moving to the interior is where most of the changes have been made to cut the price down. By again comparing it to the Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD, the Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD offers:

  • 7 speakers instead of 9 speakers
  • No FM radio unit (cellular data, Wi-Fi, ultra-wide band, and Bluetooth connectivity retained)
  • No 8-inch second-row touchscreen display
  • Manually adjustable steering wheel
  • No door pocket ambient lighting
  • No microsuede décor
  • No second-row touch-screen-adjust air vents (manually adjustable)
  • Vegan leather with fabric seat materials
  • No ventilated seats with power tilt (seat adjustment at centre console display)
  • No second-row heated seats

One final difference, the suspension returns to fully passive shock absorbers for the Standard RWD, instead of the frequency-dependent shock absorbers that are now standard across the Tesla Model 3 Premium variants.
