Porsche 911 (992.2) facelift now in Malaysia – hybrid power, from RM1.43 million

The 2025 Porsche 911 (992.2) facelift has officially arrived in Malaysia, bringing significant updates, including hybrid-assisted performance for the first time in the model’s history. The new 911 Carrera range starts from RM1.43 million for the base Carrera, while the Carrera 4 GTS debuts a 3.6-litre T-Hybrid powertrain.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS

Leading the facelifted Porsche 911 lineup is the Carrera 4 GTS, which debuts a new 3.6-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine. This marks an increase in displacement from the previous 3.0-litre unit, achieved through a larger bore and stroke of 97 mm and 81 mm, respectively.

The real game-changer is Porsche’s T-Hybrid system, which integrates an electrically-assisted turbocharger and a 54 PS/150 Nm electric motor within the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The hybrid system is powered by a 400V, 1.9 kWh (gross) battery, mounted at the front of the car.

Key Performance Figures:

  • Total Output: 540 PS / 610 Nm
  • 0-100 km/h: 3.0 seconds
  •  Top Speed: 312 km/h
  • Electric Turbocharger: Eliminates turbo lag, improves response
  • Rear-Wheel Steering: Standard for the first time on the Carrera 4 GTS

The electrified turbo replaces the traditional twin-turbo setup, eliminating the need for a wastegate. This setup also allows the turbocharger to act as a generator, recovering up to 11 kW from exhaust gases—similar to the MGU-H system in Formula 1 engines.

To enhance agility and stability, the Carrera 4 GTS comes with rear-wheel steering as standard, along with 10 mm-lowered PASM adaptive suspension. It rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, wrapped in 245/35ZR20 front and 315/30ZR21 rear tyres.

Porsche 911 Carrera

For those who prefer pure internal combustion power, the base Carrera still delivers impressive performance. The 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six has been refined to produce 394 PS and 450 Nm, thanks to:

  • Intercooler from the 911 Turbo (now positioned under the rear lid grille)
  • Turbochargers from the outgoing 992.1 Carrera GTS

Mated to an eight-speed PDK transmission, the 911 Carrera now accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (with the Sport Chrono package) and reaches a top speed of 294 km/h.

The facelifted 992-generation 911 brings subtle but effective design updates:

Exterior Updates:

  • New HD matrix LED headlights with over 32,000 light points, providing a high beam range of 600+ metres
  • Revised rear light strip and higher-positioned license plate for a cleaner look

Interior & Tech Upgrades:

  • Fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster – the first time in 911 history
  • Classic five-gauge layout available in digital form
  • New 10.9-inch infotainment system with deeper Apple CarPlay integration
  • Native support for Spotify and Apple Music, no smartphone required
  • Starter button replaces Porsche’s signature twist-key ignition

The facelifted 992-generation Porsche 911 is now available for order in Malaysia in the following configurations:

  • 911 Carrera (Coupé) – RM1.43 million
  • 911 Carrera 4 GTS (Coupé & Targa) – Pricing TBA

Both models are available exclusively with the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, with no manual option offered.

With the arrival of the 992.2-generation Porsche 911 facelift, the iconic sports car continues to push boundaries while maintaining its legendary performance, handling, and heritage. Whether you opt for the hybrid-assisted Carrera 4 GTS or the pure combustion Carrera, the latest 911 promises unmatched driving dynamics with cutting-edge technology.
