Proton donates RM250k, free vehicle inspections to Putra Heights fire victims
Proton has announced a RM250,000 contribution and complimentary vehicle inspection services for victims of the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Malaysians in times of crisis.
The fire, which erupted on 1 April, destroyed 87 homes, damaged another 148, and affected 399 vehicles. The donation will be channeled to residents displaced by the disaster, including those currently housed at temporary evacuation centres in Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and Dewan Camelia.
“The devastation caused by the fire in Putra Harmoni is deeply concerning, and we are committed to providing meaningful support to the affected community. We hope that this financial aid will provide some relief to those who are suffering,” said Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton.
To further assist, six Proton service centres across the Klang Valley have been activated to provide free assessments for all Proton vehicles affected by the fire. The centres will also assist with insurance claims, ensuring a smoother recovery process for affected owners.
Vehicle owners regardless of whether their cars were moved from the area or remained at the scene are encouraged to bring their vehicles in for evaluation.
