Peugeot e-408 unveiled: Fastback EV with 453 km range, up to 213 PS

The Peugeot e-408 has just been unveiled. This new variant follows in the footsteps of the plug-in hybrid 408 variants launched in 2022 and brings an all-electric option.

Built on the multi-energy E-EMP2 platform, the e-408 retains the dynamic fastback design of its petrol and hybrid siblings. It stands out with its feline stance, sporty lines, and aerodynamic profile, enhanced by 19-inch Graphite wheels and low-rolling-resistance tires.

A key design feature is its integrated grille, which blends seamlessly into the front bumper, symbolizing the shift to electric mobility. Available in five distinct colours, including Obsession Blue and Perla Nera Black.

Powering the e-408 is a 157 kW (210 hp) electric motor, delivering 345 Nm of torque, all powered by a 58.2 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery, providing WLTP-rated range of up to 453 km.

Charging is streamlined with an 11-kW onboard AC charger and support for 120-kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just over 30 minutes.

Inside, the e-408 offers Peugeot’s signature i-Cockpit, featuring a compact steering wheel, a fully configurable 10-inch digital display, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also features a high-end Focal audio system for immersive sound, further elevating the driving experience.

Depending on market, the e-408 will be available in two trims, Allure and GT, with driver aids such as adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, automatic emergency braking, and long-range blind spot monitoring.
