Chery Malaysia to provide 50 cars for victims of Putra Heights gas pipeline fire
Chery Malaysia is stepping in to assist victims of the recent Putra Heights gas pipeline fire by providing 50 vehicles for their use over the next month. This was confirmed by Selangor executive councillor Ng Sze Han, who spoke to Malay Mail today.
Ng explained that many affected residents are struggling with daily commutes, whether for work or sending their children to school. To ease their burden, Chery Malaysia has stepped forward with a temporary solution.
“We understand that many need to go to work. Some of them have to send their children to school. So Chery is lending 50 cars… the application can start in the next few days,” he said.
The gas pipeline fire has impacted over 100 families, and this initiative aims to provide mobility support to those most in need.
Details on how affected residents can apply for the temporary vehicles will be communicated soon. Authorities and Chery Malaysia are expected to release more information in the coming days.
This move highlights the growing role of private companies in providing disaster relief alongside government efforts, ensuring that victims can regain a sense of normalcy as they recover from the incident.
