All-New 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe previewed in Malaysia – Launching 2nd July
Hyundai-Motors Malaysia has previewed the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe ahead of its Malaysian launch on July 2nd, 2025. Now entering a new generation, the D/E-segment SUV makes a striking return with boxier proportions, a rugged design language, and significantly upgraded performance.
The new Santa Fe embraces a bold, angular design direction that’s a major departure from its predecessor. At the front, the SUV wears a high-set hood and prominent fenders, flanked by a signature H-shaped LED headlamp layout that immediately grabs attention. A dark chrome-finished radiator grille adds a touch of premium aggression, while at the rear, a hidden wiper and wide tailgate aperture enhance both styling and practicality.
Dimensions-wise, the Santa Fe measures:
- Length: 4,830 mm
- Width: 1,900 mm
- Height: 1,770 mm (Prime & Prestige) / 1,780 mm (Calligraphy)
- Wheelbase: 2,815 mm
The widened tailgate is a particular highlight, designed to improve access for outdoor activities or loading bulkier items — a subtle nod to the lifestyle-oriented redesign of this generation.
The new Santa Fe will be offered in three distinct variants in Malaysia, split between hybrid and internal combustion engine (ICE) configurations:
| Engine | Drivetrain | Power (PS) | Torque (Nm) | Transmission |
Prime (Hybrid, 7-seater) | 1.6L Turbo-Hybrid | 2WD | 235 PS | 367 Nm | 6-speed Auto |
Prestige (Hybrid, 7-seater) | 1.6L Turbo-Hybrid | 2WD | 235 PS | 367 Nm | 6-speed Auto |
Calligraphy (ICE, 6-seater) | 2.5L Turbo Petrol | 4WD | 281 PS | 422 Nm | 8-speed DCT |
All variants are turbocharged and come equipped with a generous 67-litre fuel tank. The Calligraphy variant stands out with its higher performance, four-wheel drive, and a more dynamic dual-clutch transmission setup.
Hyundai Malaysia has tailored the Santa Fe line-up to cater to varying needs:
- Prime: Hybrid, 7-seater, 2WD
- Prestige: Hybrid, 7-seater, 2WD
- Calligraphy: ICE, 6-seater, 4WD
The Calligraphy variant appears to position itself as the flagship, not just in performance but also in exclusivity with a 6-seat layout, likely featuring second-row captain chairs.
While much of the Santa Fe’s interior remains under wraps, Hyundai has confirmed that full details, including cabin features and technology, will be unveiled at the official launch event on July 2nd, 2025. Early previews hint at a premium, tech-forward cabin to match its bold new exterior.
Hyundai has yet to reveal pricing for the new Santa Fe. Given its positioning and specifications, the new model is expected to compete with SUVs like the Mazda CX-8, Kia Sorento, and Proton X90, especially in the upper price bracket.
Stay tuned for full details, including interior features and pricing, during the official launch.
