2026 Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR-S launched in Malaysia – sportier for the same RM 149k

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has just unveiled the updated 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR-S with new GR visual updates, both exterior and interior, as well as exclusive two-tone colour options, but with the same price of RM 148,800 on the road, excluding insurance.

Starting with the exterior updates, the new Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR-S now has a honeycomb mesh radiator grille design, with an addition ‘GR’ logo. Moving to the rear, the rear bumper lower garnish now has a sleeker vented design for an exclusive look. More ‘GR’ logos can be spotted on each front left and right fender, and the rear ‘Corolla Cross’ emblem has been switched to a black finish from the previous chrome finish. Three two-tone exterior colours now come as standard, which are Platinum White Pearl, Dark Turquoise, and Red Mica Metallica. The two-tone black area covers the roof, side-mirrors and the tailgate spoiler.

Moving to the inside, the updated GR styling continues with red stitching on the steering wheel, gear boot, and seats, and further extends to the dashboard and door cards, adding the sporty flair of the new Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR-S variant. The ‘GR’ logo on the headrest is now embroidered in full colour, plus another ‘GR’ logo added on the steering wheel’s bottom spoke.

The safety features remain unchanged from the previous model, offering the Toyota Safety Sense bundled together with safety features such as Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Parking Support Brake (PKSB), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and 7 SRS airbags.

Same with the powertrain, the Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR-S is powered by the same 1.8L 4-cylinder 2ZR-FXE engine producing 98 PS and 142 Nm of torque, mated with a 72PS and 163 Nm of torque electric motor, resulting in a combined 122 PS powering the front wheels via an E-CVT. As mentioned, the price remains the same at RM 148,800 and comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and 8-year unlimited mileage Hybrid Warranty, which covers the hybrid battery, inverter, and power management control ECU.
