2026 Volkswagen Golf R-Line launched in Malaysia, RM 187k – 1.5L mild hybrid, R-Line styling

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VCPM) has launched the new Volkswagen Golf R-Line in Malaysia with an on-the-road price of RM 186, 580, excluding insurance. The Volkswagen Golf R-Line was previewed last year alongside the launch of the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang, the Volkswagen Golf R-Line measures 4,289 mm long, 1,789 mm wide, and 1,483 mm tall, and features R-Line exterior details from the front to the rear. IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and redesigned IQ.LIGHT 3D LED taillights with dynamic turn signals add an element of style to function. Plus, the new highlight is the illuminated Volkswagen logo with light strips on the front bumper.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Golf R-Line is powered by a 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid turbo powertrain with a 48V battery, producing 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission powering only the front wheels. VCPM says the new powertrain delivers smooth acceleration and a more economical drive with an estimated 5.5L/100 km fuel consumption, tested according to the Malaysia Driving Cycle (MDC).
