2026 Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV launched, from RM 110k – 3 Variants, up to 996 km WLTP

The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has finally launched at a price starting from RM 109,800 and comes in three variants. Compared to its competition, Chery and Jaecoo, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is now the cheapest C-segment PHEV SUV money can buy in Malaysia. Listed below are the price comparisons between the three Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV variants and their rivals.

Essentially a plug-in hybrid variant of the Proton e.MAS 7, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV is powered by a non-turbo 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine producing 99 PS and 125 Nm of torque, combined with a 218 PS and 262 Nm of torque front electric motor. Combined output results in a 262 PS and 262 Nm of torque sent to the front wheels. An 11-to-1 electrified dedicated hybrid transmission (E-DHT) combines a P1 integrated starter-generator and P3 traction motor. All three variants share the same powertrain, differing only in the battery capacity for the Premium + variant.

The front fascia has been redesigned, equipped with a full-width front illuminated bar, and with the headlights separated into two levels, minimizing glare to other road users. The rear number plate has been moved upward on the tailgate instead of the rear bumper, and the use of conventional door handles. The Premium + variant only adds a sunroof from the Premium variant.
