2021 BMW IX3 Facelift To Launch In Malaysia Soon, RM300k Price Possible For 460-Km Range EV?

BMW Malaysia has announced that the 2021 BMW iX3 will be entering the Malaysian market soon. The announcement follows the launch of the BMW iX today.
Unlike the BMW iX, the BMW iX3 is not built on a dedicated EV platform. Instead, it shares the same platform with the BMW X3, its ICE counterpart.
BMW Malaysia has not detailed the specs of the BMW iX3, but what we can tell you is that it is powered by a single electric motor 286 PS/400 Nm powering the rear wheels.
Ingress Auto will be going live with its All-New M configurator this Malaysia Day.
With an 80-kWh (gross) battery pack, the BMW iX3 manages a range of 460 km on the WLTP cycle.
In terms of charging, the BMW iX3 is capable of 11-kW AC charging and 150-kW DC Fast Charging.
Charging from 0-100% (AC) takes 7.5 hours and charging from 10%-80% (DC) takes 32 minutes.
Since the iX is about the size of a BMW X3 and starts at a price of RM 419,630, do expect the non-EV-dedicated BMW iX3 to be a bit cheaper. Could it be just a tad pricier than the MINI Cooper SE (RM218k)?
We’ll have to wait and see.
