Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has unveiled the Hyundai Stargazer at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), with an estimated price starting from RM 99,000 and offered in three variants. The displayed model shown here is the 7-seater Prime variant.

  • Hyundai Stargazer Prime (7-seater) – RM 109, XXX
  • Hyundai Stargazer X (6-seater) – RM 121, XXX

Despite being introduced as a new model, the Hyundai Stargazer unveiled here is actually the facelifted version, which has already been on sale in Thailand and Indonesia. In fact, those markets received the pre-facelift model years ago, while Malaysians have had to wait until now for the seven-seater to arrive. The Hyundai Stargazer is now open for booking and set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, where it is set to compete with the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz.

The Hyundai Stargazer measures 4,610 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, 1,740 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,780 mm. For reference, it is 15 mm longer, 70 mm wider, and 10 mm lower than the Mitsubishi Xpander. The front end features a boxy and angular design, highlighted by box-shaped multifaceted reflector (MFR) LED headlights with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), accompanied by a rectangular-pattern grille positioned above the angular lower bumper. At the rear, the LED taillights form a distinctive H-shaped light signature.

Under the bonnet sits a Smartstream 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder MPI engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. It is paired with Hyundai’s IVT, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that uses a chain belt, sending power to the front wheels. Suspension duties are handled by MacPherson struts at the front and a Coupled Torsion Beam Axle (CTBA) rear suspension.

Stepping inside, it is clear that the interior has been refreshed, with several new and upgraded features compared to its predecessor. The most notable change is the new 10.25-inch integrated display, which combines the instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen into a single panoramic unit.
