BMW Group Malaysia has launched the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport, a new variant of the fourth-generation BMW X3 lineup with a starting price of RM 358,800. The new variant replaces the existing BMW X3 20 xDrive M Sport as the higher-spec model.

Starting with the dimensions, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport measures 4,755 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, 1,660 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. From a styling perspective, it features a large BMW kidney grille in Pearl Chrome with ‘BMW Iconic Glow’ lighting, paired with Adaptive LED headlights.

The bold design continues along the side profile, with a forward-leaning stance, large front and rear wheel arches, and a reinterpreted Hofmeister kink. Exclusive to this variant are 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 1036 M Bicolour, along with M Sport brake callipers in dark blue metallic. At the rear, it features split double L-shaped taillights, while the exterior is further enhanced by the Exterior Line Satin Aluminium trim. Exterior colour options include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Dune Grey, and Tanzanite Blue.

Under the bonnet, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder 48V mild hybrid engine, producing 258 PS and 400 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels via the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.

Inside, the focal point is the frameless BMW Curved Display, which houses a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Below the display sits the BMW Interaction Bar, providing access to various functions and incorporating dynamic ambient lighting. The flat-bottomed M leather three-spoke steering wheel adds a sporty touch, while both the driver and front passenger benefit from electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function.

Exclusive to the M Sport package is the M Anthracite headliner, along with various M Sport interior elements and trim pieces bearing the M logo. Additional equipment specific to the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport includes a panoramic glass roof, BMW Individual Magnolia fine-wood trim, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system with 15 speakers and a 765-watt digital amplifier.

In terms of safety, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport comes equipped with the BMW Driving Assistant Plus suite, which includes safety features such as Lane Change Warning with active steering intervention, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, and Evasion Assistant for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians, including during turns and at intersections. It also includes Speed Limit Display with no-overtaking indicator and pre-warning, Attentiveness Assistant, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning with brake intervention, Exit Warning, Rear Collision Prevention, and Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, along with Steering and Lane Control Assistant.

Also included is Parking Assistant Plus, which aids parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces using cameras and an ultrasound-based system. This suite includes Park Assist, Reversing Assistant, Active Park Distance Control, Surround View System, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive Recorder, and Anti-Theft Recorder.

To recap, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport has been launched in Malaysia with a starting price of RM 358,800. However, the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme, which includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, along with 5 years or 100,000 km of service coverage, comes with an additional cost, totalling RM 386,700.
