New Kia Carnival 8-seater variant launched, RM 239K – flexible seat configuration, retains 2.2L turbodiesel

Kia Malaysia has expanded its Kia Carnival lineup with the addition of a new 8-seater variant. Positioned between the 7-seater and 11-seater variants, the 8-seater reflects increasing demand from larger families and business owners who require an adaptable interior without sacrificing premium cabin features.

The new Kia Carnival 8-seater is priced at RM 238,888, slotting between the 11-seater and 7-seater variants:

The Kia Carnival 8-seater features a 2-3-3 seating layout, upholstered in plush leatherette. The second row offers a 40:20:40 split-fold configuration with detachable seats and long-slide functionality. The middle seat can be configured to face forward or backward, while the other two second-row seats can also be reversed. The third row features a 60:40 split-fold design, with user-friendly pop-up and sinking seats, offering a variety of cargo and passenger configurations.

Other notable interior highlights include ambient lighting spanning the width of the dashboard, complemented by a curved panoramic display that integrates a dual 12.3-inch meter cluster display and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Premium cabin features are further enhanced by a 12-speaker Bose audio system.

The Kia Carnival 8-seater shares the same powertrain as the other variants, powered by a 2.2-litre Smartstream four-cylinder turbodiesel engine producing 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque. Exterior colour options remain unchanged, with Meteor Grey, Snowflake White Pearl, Astra Blue, and Jet Black available.

Similar to the 7-seater variant, the Kia Carnival 8-seater comes equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes the following safety features such as, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2.0 (FCA 2.0), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Highway Drive Assist 2 (HDA 2), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCTA), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), and 8 airbags.

To recap, the new Kia Carnival 8-seater is priced at RM 238,888 and is backed by a 5-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty. Kia Sales Malaysia states that maintenance costs could be as low as RM 3,600 over five years, with service intervals set at every 10,000 km or 12 months.
