Updated 2025 BYD Seal teased for Malaysia – adaptive suspension, new wheels, electric sunshade

BYD Sime Motors has teased the arrival of the updated 2025 BYD Seal, hinting at a launch soon. The facelifted EV went on sale in Singapore in April with a slightly larger frunk (53 litres, up from 50), new alloy wheel designs, and an electric sunroof shade.

The suspension is upgraded to the DiSus-C adaptive damping system, already fitted to the updated Seal in Singapore and Indonesia, and also seen on the Denza D9 launched here in February.

Recapping the current BYD Seal line-up in Malaysia:

  • Dynamic – Single rear motor, 136 PS and 310 Nm, 61.44 kWh battery, up to 460 km range (WLTP), 100 kW DC and 7 kW AC charging, RM 167,710.
  • Premium – Single rear motor, 313 PS and 360 Nm, 82.56 kWh battery, up to 570 km range, 150 kW DC and 7 kW AC charging, RM 183,710.
  • Performance – Dual motor (215 PS and 310 Nm front, 313 PS and 360 Nm rear), 530 PS and 670 Nm combined, 82.56 kWh battery, 520 km range, 150 kW DC and 7 kW AC charging, RM 203,710.

DC fast charging from 30 to 80% takes around 32 minutes across all variants. AC charging from empty is 8.6 hours for the smaller battery and 15.2 hours for the larger pack.

Safety kit in the Singapore-spec model includes nine airbags, 360-degree camera, parking sensors front and rear, adaptive cruise control, AEB, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert with braking, and a head-up display.
