Datuk Remy Ishak joins GAC Malaysia as brand ambassador, Emkoo and M8 PHEV pre-sales ongoing

GAC Malaysia has appointed award-winning actor Datuk Remy Ishak as its newest brand ambassador, joining Jack Lim who has represented the brand since 2024. The announcement was made at the GAC & Aion Showcase in 1 Utama Shopping Centre last weekend.

The appointment comes as GAC prepares to expand its local line-up, with the second locally-assembled (CKD) model, the GAC Emkoo, and the fully-imported (CBU) GAC M8 PHEV MPV now open for pre-booking.

Speaking at the event, Warisan TC Holdings CEO Tan Keng Meng said Jack Lim has played a vital role in GAC Malaysia’s first year, while Remy brings “a unique blend of charisma, professionalism, and influence that resonates with Malaysian audiences.” Remy said he was impressed by GAC’s bold design, innovation, and growing presence in Malaysia.

The GAC Emkoo will be available in Premium and Premium Pro variants, estimated at RM 120,000 and RM 130,000 respectively. It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and comes with a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty plus a 7-year/180,000 km engine and powertrain warranty. First customer deliveries are expected by end-September 2025.

The GAC M8 PHEV is estimated at RM 333,000 for the Premium and RM 380,000 for the Luxury. The MPV combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a dedicated two-step hybrid transmission, delivering a claimed range of 1,038 km. Warranty coverage includes 5 years/150,000 km for the vehicle and 8 years/150,000 km for the battery.
